The Business Side…

WE HIGHLY ADVISE YOU CALL THE NUMBER ON THE BACK OF YOUR INSURANCE CARD TO VERIFY COVERAGE AND BENEFITS FOR OUTPATIENT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

January is the Season for Deductible Resets!

Most insurance plans reset deductibles and maximum out of pocket fees in January. When this happens, you will be responsible for the negotiated fee for services based on your insurance plan. This will vary, but typically ranges between $160 and $200 per session. To avoid large balances quickly adding up, we ask for our patients to pay the balance for their visits either every time, or every other time, until their deductible is met. Payment plans will not be allowed. This is not because Dr. Taft is mean and uncaring, but because this is a small business with salaries to pay and electricity to keep on. We sincerely appreciate your understanding, and will do our best to work with you on these matters that are simply the reality of the US healthcare system.

We know. We hate it too.

We are in-network providers with:
Aetna
Blue Cross Blue Shield (Non-HMO plans)
Cigna
Medicare
Optum
United HealthCare

Prior to your first visit, we will verify your insurance coverage. However, patients are ultimately responsible for confirming their insurance coverage for our services. Please check your co-payments and deductibles prior to your appointment. Co-payments are billed on a monthly basis via your credit card on file.

Most major insurance plans cover pre-bariatric surgery psychological evaluations. Standard deductibles or maximum out-of-pocket rules will apply.

For those with limited financial means and who do not have health insurance, Oak Park Behavioral Medicine providers do offer discounted services on a sliding fee scale on a limited basis. We also have 3-4 advanced trainees in clinical psychology or social work who see patients as low as $20.00 per session.

Fees will be negotiated at your initial intake session and will be based on your current employment income, number of people in your household, and any other supplemental income you may receive. In order to be eligible for discounted services, you must bring a copy of your most recent employment pay stub to your first visit.
